One of the biggest blessings of my life occurred when I was 17 years old and became Stormi's big sister. Daddy and my mother had divorced when I was 12 and he immediately married a woman only 10 years older than me. She, too, was an alcoholic and for about a year they did nothing but drink and get into trouble. They were soon divorced and a couple of years later, he remarried once again and was soon expecting a baby. By this time, I wasn't allowed to see him and only found out he had remarried when my grandfather asked me what I thought about Daddy having another baby. It was then that I decided perhaps I had better get back in touch with my dad, because I had no idea whom this woman was that he had married and I was determined that no sibling of mine was going to be raised with two alcoholic parents. Fortunately, Daddy made a better wife choice this time, and Stormi's mother was a nice lady and not an alcoholic. She was always very kind to me and we enjoyed a close relationship. I knew that she would take care of my little sister.
Stormi and her sweet husband have been married ten years. They are the proud parents of a precious 6 year old boy and an absolutely beautiful four year old baby girl. Stormi earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education and teaches middle school Social Studies: her students and co-workers adore her. In addition to her many responsibilities, at work and at home, Stormi also takes excellent care of her mother who has had Parkinson's for many years.
Stormi is also the adult daughter of an alcoholic father.
Stormi had her own struggles with Daddy, yet she persevered and never let her childhood and home life stop her from achieving her dreams. My husband and I have always been so incredibly proud of her. She works hard, always strives to do her very best, and most importantly, truly cares about others. She is a wonderful mother to my baby niece and nephew, a loving wife to her husband, and my absolute pride and joy. I could not imagine my life without her. She truly is the greatest gift I have ever been given.
